On rare occasions, we accept new clients at the start of their careers, generally from referrals of current clients. We only consider proposals from authors who are already commercially published (not self-published) or those who are referred to us from an Alive Communications client or close contact.

Regretfully, we cannot invest in the staffing resources necessary to handle unsolicited proposals by mail. We only consider unsolicited e-mail submissions. We will no longer return unsolicited manuscripts sent to us, even if a self-addressed stamped envelope is included. Authors who submit queries by email per our guidelines will receive a response from Alive Communications. However, unsolicited queries that do not meet our guidelines will not receive a response.

Your query should contain a short author biography, your publishing and sales history, and a synopsis of the work. It should also include information on your target audience, as well as your own sales and marketing hooks. Don't forget to mention recent speaking engagements or media appearances. In general, publishers will want to know that you have a unique proposal for a broad audience, that you are the best author to write the book, and that you write well.
